SPRING TERM TOPIC OVERVIEW

Our whole school topic for the SPRING TERM is:
'Culture Cymru'.
In Dosbarth Merlin our 'Culture Cymru' focus is
'Our Wonderful World'
At first we discussed what culture means to us; does culture only exist in Wales? We decided that there must be culture all over the world. Miss Newell told us that that there is something called The Seven Wonders of the World. We carried out some research and added questions based on the six Areas of Learning Experience. We did this by collaborating on Google Classroom - this way we could take a look at others ideas to inspire us too!
Miss Newell will use our questions to create a topic that is focused on our voices and based on what we want t learn. Here are some of our ideas:

Our whole school topic for the AUTUMN TERM is:
'Amseroedd Neiwidiol'
this means 'Changing Times'.
In Dosbarth Merlin our 'Amseroedd Neiwidiol' focus is
'Victorian Britain and the Industrial Revolution'
We started our topic this year by discussing the title, whether we had ever heard these words before and what they may mean. Then we carried out some research and added questions based on the six Areas of Learning Experience. We did this by collaborating on Google Classroom - this way we could take a look at others ideas to inspire us too!
Miss Newell will use our questions to create a topic that is focused on our voices and based on what we want t learn. Here are some of our ideas:
At the end of each week we evaluate our learning as a class and decide together on what we would like to learn next. We also give suggestions to Miss Newell for our 'home learning' tasks.
